Tire Falls From Trash Truck Causing Fatal Accident

On Wednesday, August 1, a Mack garbage truck was traveling on the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn. Around 6:30 am a tire flew off the truck striking the windshield of a Chevy Tracker driven by a 64-year-old man traveling west. The tire shattered the windshield and then bounced over the median of the highway. The accident caused severe head trauma to the driver who was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Brooklyn Road Rage Incident Results In Attempted Murder Charges

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a road rage incident that took place last month in Brooklyn. On July 24, two men got into an argument on McGuinness Boulevard which turned into a fight when harsh words were spoken and the drivers both exited their vehicles. The suspect who has now been arrested threatened the other man with a knife and then stole his keys. The victim tried to get his keys back but the man started to drive away pinning the victim and dragging him with his car. The victim then flipped into the air and landed between 2 parked cars. The suspect left the scene and took part of the victim’s fender with him. The suspect was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, attempted murder, reckless endangerment, menacing, and leaving the scene of an accident. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Woman In Critical Condition After Hit And Run

On Saturday, July 28, a hit and run accident took place in Brooklyn right before midnight at Avenue P and East 16th Street. The victim is a 57-year-old woman who was crossing the street in a crosswalk when a blue sedan hit her. She was taken to Maimonides Medical Center where she is in critical condition. Police are searching for the driver of the car which was last seen with damage to the front end speeding west.
